I blowdried my hair recently and did a twisted updo, I used Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter, Cantu Shea Butter Leave In, Ion Heat Protectant, Castor Oil, and Hot 6 Oil.. then I recently took the updo down and thought since my hair was stretched I might as well make the most out of it and did a twist out with Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter and Castor Oil. So I've been rockin' it in a ponytail. I'm reallly trying to make the most out of it since I don't heat style often.. heat styling can be damaging still even if you use heat protectant since no heat protectant guarantees 100% heat protection. But I'm going to hope that my hair reverts back :)

Review: Shea Moisture Organic African Black Soap Purification Masque
So I picked up this product maybe a week ago, and I had been eye-balling it for quite a while since I have quite the dry scalp, I used it twice, I got it from Target for $9.99. Some of the key ingredients in this product are Plantain Enzyme, Tea Tree, Willow Bark Extract, and Kaolin Clay. The consistency of the product kind of looks like wet, creamy dust. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it:
I used this product after shampooing, I know that some users use this before shampooing, or even cowash. I evenly distributed the product on my hair AND scalp, since it removes build up. and after distributing it through my hair, I felt a cool sensation, almost like it was menthol, but it was just the Tea Tree and other scalp soothing ingredients, it felt really good, I wanna say both times I left it on for 45 minutes to an hour, then rinsed and my hair felt AMAZING, my scalp felt good, my hair was soft and moisturized, better than any deep conditioner i've used so far. Plus it has great slip, which is great! So this product definitely made the Staple list and I will repurchase! :)

Trying a New Regimen?
So.. I think I want to take a new regimen, I've been making my regimen very complicated lately, and I was just thinking back to the transitioning days where I was going product searching crazy, and things were so simple, Cowash 1x a week, Shampoo 1x a month, and I had like only 10 products maybe? I knew things were going to change after the big chop, but not this much! I remember just big chopping, and I was trying my transitioning regimen, and my hair was like, "WTF" So things became really hard, I stopped cowashing because it made my hair sticky.. but I think since my hair is longer, i'm going to try it again! I was looking at a couple cleansing conditioners:
and then there are those cheapy conditioners, one of my favorites is Herbal Essences Hello Hydration:
I also wanna try a couple new deep conditioners, and these were my options:
Some of these are on the pricey side.. but just trying stuff out, I might get samples first, i'm going to choose my fave 3 out of all of these and keep them in my regimen, then lastly I wanna try some new shampoos, and "stylers"
Some of these are just ideas, others i'll pick up in a couple trips, then I post reviews of what I think about them, to start off my new regimen! Wish me luck!

5 Months Natural! (5/26/12) (19 months post relaxer)
Obviously, like the title says, i'm 5 months natural today! my hair has grown so much and a lot has changed! it's so much easier for me to deal with my hair now! i've gotten very used to it, and the styles i do help me maintain my hair! I'm having an easier time finding products that work now, and it's gotten so freakin long! It felt like it was just a week ago when i walked into hair cuttery and told them to cut my relaxer off! but anyway, i straightened my hair and clipped my ends, and my sister is installing yarn braids into my hair right now! but that will be in a whole other post and i'll post pics when i'm done :)

I think I Just Found One Of The Best Curl Refreshers Of All Time!
So I was just downstairs looking at the Curl and Style Milk I gave my sister (Oh how I miss it :( ) and i remember seeing this Aveeno Leave In Treatment in my sisters room, so i snuck in there to see if it was still there, so... I quickly sprayed some into my hands and into my hair, and my hair moisture levels were off the charts! It smelled soo good and my hair was so soft! Now, let me say one thing; the ingredients aren't really the best, but after using Murray's Hair Dressing, it doesn't get worse. So I have to buy my own! I immediately google searched this product to find the priced, 5 DOLLARS! I could pick up 2! If i added this product to my regimen i wouldn't have to use the Cantu Lotion or the Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter, even though they're nice products and my staples, it's less money to spend just using this. But I have to get to my local Target ASAP!
